Blue River - Dillon to Green Mountain Fishing Report
The blue is fishing good from Dillon to Kremmling.  Caddis and yellow sallies seem to be the most populous bugs, but there are still some pmd's and a few drakes around.  Nymphing with mysis and midges has been best close to the dam while hopper dropper works better as you go downstream.  There have been good drake hatches below green mountain reservoir, and the streamer bite is also good on this section.  The waters on these rivers can be cooler than the freestone streams this time of year, producing better hatches and keeping the fish on the feed.  Hopper fishing is turning on as we stay hot and dry, and can produce big fish mid day when all other bugs can't seem to buy a fish!! As we move closer to summers end the terrestrial bite should get stronger and stronger, so fish your hoppers to the edges and give em a good twitch now and again.  The drakes are thicker below Green Mountain Reservoir and the streamer bite is also good in this section.  With 2 miles of public access this section requires hiking downstream and discourages a lot of anglers due to the rugged terrain.  Check it out!!
