Colorado River - Parshall Fishing Report

Hopper fishing is heating up on the Colorado!  Dry dropper to the soft edges is taking fish but you have to twitch and move the hopper.  Try Chubby Cheyrnobles with soft hackle pheasant tail droppers.  Fish are looking up and the hopper bite has been best on the hottest and windiest of days.  Try streamers early and late, or during overcast days, dry dropper when the hatches are non existent, and maybe nymphing deep during hot sunny days to pull the big boys out of the deepest and coolest of the pools.  From Byers Canyon to Kremmling the bite has been all over the board with some angles killing it and others struggling to see even a few fish.  The streamer bite will start to pick up by the end of August as the browns get pre spawn and start to get aggressive.  Gore Canyon is an excellent fish this time of year and for an angler willing to hike a mile or so the streamer bite for big fish is worth the walk.
