The Gunnison is fishing good with the insects just starting to get going. BWO's are popping and the fish have put the feed bag on. Below Blue Mesa in the Canyon and Gorge there are rainbows pushing upstream and the egg bite is still hitting pretty good closer to the East Portal. Streamers with 2 handed rods have been working as well. Stonefly nymphs with eggs or baetis nymphs under indicators has been the standard set up. Upstream of Pleasure Park the fishing has been good with Stones, caddis, and baetis under indicators. There are a few small sporadic caddis hatching along with the thicker BWO's. The North Fork can puke this time of year limiting the fishing below Pleasure Park, so keep it upstream for better clarity. The dirt snake works great in stained water.
