11 Mile Canyon
Recent reports from the south platte have been great with plenty of fish eager to eat dry fly midges and olives. The fish here are plentiful and average about 14 inches with bigger fish certainly possible. Crowds are heavier on the weekends, but there is plenty of river and this time of year the fishing is still excellent. Small dark baetis nymphs work well: black p tails, blm's, barr emergers, and killer mayflies. I would try to go on a cloudy day in hopes of a better hatch and rising fish. The canyon can also be a place of refuge from the wind when she gets cranking.
