South Boulder Creek Report

With lower flows the wet wading was delicious. We caught nothing but browns for fish but plenty of them. There were drakes, stoneflies, pmd's, and of course caddis hatching throughout the day. Most fish were taken on droppers but some larger fish were taken on the hopper patterns. Not much of a trail at the lower edge of Walker Ranch so be prepared to bushwhack it some. Surprised at the amount of diddymo? in a secluded spot like this, it was everywhere. Plenty of fish and not another person there. Any bead head dropper from stones to caddis and even a good old prince will take their share of fish. Still wondering why this lower section has so few rainbows. I would rather catch a brown anyway. Grove Stafford almost fell in. Maybe the uphill on the way out hike keeps people away.
